UCAN offers both coatings and plating for steel fasteners, as well as fasteners manufactured from corrosion resistant materials to increase the fasteners′ service life expectancy.

The majority of UCAN fasteners are zinc plated to offer adequate corrosion protection in interior applications with no particular influence of moisture.

Hot dip galvanized or mechanically zinc plated fasteners provides lasting protection in damp inside rooms and costal areas. This type of corrosion protection is also effective for applications with occasional exposure to condensations, and mild corrosive outside environment (roads and bridges).

The UCAN RUSPRO® protective coating consisting of successive layers of zinc, phosphate and baked on ceramic silicone top coat offers extended corrosion resistance exceeding hot dip galvanizing with the added benefit of reduced coating thickness. This coating is mostly used on screw type fasteners and threaded studs.

300 series austenitic stainless steel fasteners offers high level of corrosion resistance in corrosive applications such as interiors with heavy condensations, industrial atmosphere, outside and inside environment with chloride and sulphur dioxide content. Self drilling screw fasteners manufactured from grade 410 martensitic stainless steel with its′ excellent property for heat treatment with the added RUSPRO® coating also provide excellent corrosion resistance against humidity and moderate exposure to road salt.
